I'm surprised they cover the struts honestly. if they are going to cover the struts they probably will cover themounts and bearings. good luck with it either way though.- Napalm

Bronco is coming back...to Michigan
I knew the flex was going away - still might get one. but the taurus is going to get a platform revision is it not? where did you see that it wasn't? there is speculation that it won't but they still sell quite a bit of them and they are a fleet vehicle. However it also underpins the...- Napalm

Battery Replacement / Upgrade - Battery Re-Learn

taurus isn't gone - what's the new continental made off of? There might be a redesign comeing down the road - should be by now. ALso with FWD packaging you don't have nearly the room. the new 10sp trans is rather larger. GM does has an 8sp FWD transaxle - the nice thing being it has a...- Napalm

Bronco is coming back...to Michigan
Gm's 8sp is a nice piece of kit too. incidentally ford partnered with GM on the development/design of the transmissions. the 10sp is an offshoot of the work from the GM 8sp. I find it interesting their choices in gear ratios and use. Ford seems to feel the ecoboost 3.5mill will benefit...- Napalm

I'd much rather have the 10 than a CVT. ideally I'd have the solid 8sp in the front and a shiftable rear axle or some flavor of overdrive in the prop shaft so as to have a set of 8 speed with better weight distribution. but I r wierd like that. doesn't of course do squat for the FWD setup -...- Napalm

I'd like a 200 + mile range ford fusion as my DD but till then - I'm OK with a hybrid with start stop - especially for something more utilitarian as a truck what ranger can you buy right now that isn't used and over 10 years old? in the US - titleable and insurable in the US- Napalm

there will never be a lincoln version of the mustang. OEM Or Aftermarket Brakes? Recommendations.
I bought a new floor jack the other day - it's an arcam model from northern tool. Anywho - tops out around 23 + inches and I don't have to get it to full stroke to change the tires. so probably 19 ish gets it done - but more is nice obviously. I plan on getting one of those risers for it anyway- Napalm

Yes indeed if you pay careful attention the the model numbers or the specifics on an oddball size - there are indeed tires specifically designed for an application. ALL day long. Having been on the other side of that table in a previous life I know how the arguments go behind the doors too. Sadly in many mass market plays it's the bean counters that win out. this is clearly evident in the ford product - I can't fault them for it I've seen the movie...- Napalm

bigger issue in this argument is the tires you end up using. ALso - let's clarify a industry standard right now. Low profile tires are those 45 and below. the explorer on 20's in not technically a low profile tire. the 255/50 20 is not much less sidewall than the 245/60 18. it is some yes...- Napalm

Ford Goes Cheap With Halogen Over HID On 2017
Something to consider since LED is such a generic term for how the light is made, is that they are not all equal. I'd swear there is already a thread on the LED light swap on the 2016 models. I know I've looked at one once. Ford Goes Cheap With Halogen Over HID On 2017
my biggest issue with running both (and I do run both on my 4 door family car) is when people put those small but high lumen lamps in the fogs that are as bright or brighter than their standard beams. then run both with lots of extra light scatter out of the fog area - that's illegal per DOT...- Napalm

so as a former integrator I have to say a few things that just rankles my skin. 1) Halogens are incandescent - it's just a different gas in the glass bottle. 2) HID's while great are fairly complex in correct use. what I was getting at is the other brand oils that you would buy will not reference any CXO-5W30-LSP12, but will instead state WSS-M2C946-A. amsoil, pennzoil platinum, mobil 1, etc. And yes all the ones as listed in the manual should refer to the same spec value - WSS-M2C946-A- Napalm
