Sorry for the late reply, its a '99. Thank you again, but may not need it anymore.. So i took the gem fully out and left the battery off for a few hours, plug everything back in after looking the gem over. And what do ya know, I heard the motor try, but then the whole case started grinding...- DemonMudder

Fair, easy repair! Though I may just take it back for the core charge anyway since I got the new one in. Random chance though, do you know which wires on the t-case motor I could tap with a multimeter to test if its getting power? Least that should, I assume, narrow it down to the gem if it is...- DemonMudder

Took the old one apart, some small bits in there, also quite gunky, not sure if thats just old grease? But its all in the gears..interesting to see inside, anything funky to yall? Also, only code I've got is the abs one and thats just the front left wheel speed sensor, which has been funky for...- DemonMudder

I'll double check when I get home, but it should be right. I know for a fact I re-pinned correctly at the very least. But I remember comparing the two and thinking I had the same amount of wires, should be two empty slots on the old and on the new- DemonMudder

We'll see, gotta figure out how haha! Also, had a spare switch from my radio bezel swap, threw it in and still nothing. Doesnt say, but does claim to fit at least, says 4wd and AWD, and wonder if that made a difference...- DemonMudder

I left the battery fully disconnected for 30 mins before just testing the motor off the case, sadly that didn't help it. Pretty sure, least based off these diagrams. Checked interior fuse 14 and 27, figured those were the best bets, but dont see those or any others blown. Checked the engine bay...- DemonMudder

Thats fair, but it never even should have been in 4low, I only ever used 4high that night it quit on me. I do see how that makes sense, but I couldn't get either new or old motor to spin by hand so I couldn't get it to match the transfer case, just make the case march the motor. Also, I am...- DemonMudder

Gotcha, wonderful, I'll go take it off and swap to low instead I guess..! Interesting that the markers aint 100% accurate, makes some sense but still interesting. Thank you for that! Smart, I'll have to try taking it off and checking that it moves for sure, right now I'm letting it sit off the battery a while to maybe reset some stuff. Yes, at the time thats where I had to have it since thats where the old motor locked up. Once I got the new motor in, it finally managed to...- DemonMudder

So to give a better idea: the way it sits here is where the old motor seems to have locked up, the red is about as far as I can get the indicator to point without bouncing back, the blue is more about where the new motor has it pointing on it. Do I maybe just need to keep twisting it towards the...- DemonMudder

Okay, new thing. Replaced the motor, but still nothing, does anyone know if the indicator should be straight on the H in the transfer case, or on the end of the arrow point to the H? I couldn't get it to go the H and stay without bouncing back, which if it did sit on the H looks like would've...- DemonMudder

Well I tried. I got the transfer case to shift back, but the motor is seized up, can't spin that suker for the life of me. Which sucks, cause now I gotta wait for the part to come in. Which in 3 days since I've ordered, still aint even shipped. Fricking heck, what an annoying situation. Tempted...- DemonMudder

So new update, transfer case motor is out. She's currently stuck between auto and 4high by the feel of things, 4low wont even engage, gonna work on getting it back into auto at least tomorrow and replace the motor later in the week or next week. But currently I have a very unhappily AWD explorer.- DemonMudder

They just go a bit brighter for a second, instead of going off for a split second to actually flash, they just brighten and dim. Adding a video of it to the end of this. Alright! Some numbers are in! So, with me maxing my speed out at about 70mph, windows down, no a/c or vent, this is what I was getting today, averaged around 20mpg! It definitely didn't used to get that a few years ago! That rebuild, guck cleanup, and couple mods helped more than I thought in...- DemonMudder

Alright, planning time, gotta finish getting that fan hooked up properly to a sensor, but I may also replace my thermostat, pretty sure its got a high temp, like the 198 or something, in it cause ive seen it get as high as 216 during operating temps down the highway.
