Visor Question
My '04 Eddie Bauer has the Homelink in the overhead console, not on the visor, which is how it is for all of the 3rd gens if I'm not mistaken. Then again, I could be wrong. Tom- Squirrelmaster

Could anybody recommend shocks for my 04 Sport Trac?
I put Bilsteins from shockwarehouse.com (they are a vendor here) on my '04 Sport Trac at about 26,000 miles, as the stock shocks were already toast, and couldn't be happier - the difference was startling ;) . I had also looked into putting an Explorer Express X-Spec rear sway bar on the truck...- Squirrelmaster

Weathertech floor mats and 2nd row seating?
They are really nice, just be aware that it will take a while to get them after you order them. They make them post-order, so when I ordered mine they said to wait 7-10 business days before shipping, they weren't kidding because they didn't even ship until the 10th business day. However, the...- Squirrelmaster

wheel fitment
I'm fairly certain he has adapters to fit those 4-lug Cobra R's on that Ranger, because as far as I know every Ranger has had a 5x4.5" (5x114.3) lug pattern since the model debuted in 1983. Tom- Squirrelmaster

Weathertech floor mats and 2nd row seating?
I recently purchased some Weathertech Digital Fit Liners from Weathertech directly for my 2004 Eddie Bauer, and Weathertech has standardized, flat-rate shipping which could save you some money on shipping costs. The liners are amazing, surprisingly nicer than the Husky liners I've had in...- Squirrelmaster

Headlights on when doors unlocked???
My 2004 Eddie Bauer also only has the puddle lights come on when unlocked via the remote, though I would prefer the headlights and taillights to come on along with the puddle lights personally. Tom- Squirrelmaster

will motocross bikes fit int he back with the gate down?
I've hauled my old '99 KX250 in my Sport Trac several times, though I did have to remove my bed extender. It fit in straight with about two inches to spare at the end of the tailgate, though the tire did extend past the end of the truck. I used to have a picture somewhere, but I can't seem to...- Squirrelmaster

I would say if you're willing to take the time to do so, absolutely. I can't possibly see where having another "How-To" thread could be a bad thing, especially if it has pictures. Thanks in advance if you decide to do it, I'm sure I'll probably need it myself some day. :D Tom- Squirrelmaster

Shock by the Shock
Wow, that is amazing. My shocks were toast at 25K; I can't imagine going more six times that mileage on the stock shocks. Congrats on the improved ride! I know I was happy when I tossed on my Bilsteins. :D Tom- Squirrelmaster

Goodyears Wrangler RT/S cupping....
The RT/S's are garbage, unfortunately, and even though I've seen plenty of positive reviews on the tires, that is usually only from those that have less than 20K on the tires. On my '95 Explorer I had about 30-35K (I'm guessing since the odometer broke about 20K after I bought the tires), and...- Squirrelmaster

I have the same issue, though since I never use lumbar adjuster I had actually forgotten about it until I read this post. Help! Muffled tin can sound in rear.
You may have a broken exhaust hanger, allowing the exhaust to rattle up against something. I once had an occurrence with my Trans Am where an exhaust hanger slid out of it's rubber isolator, allowing it to rub an heat shield right under the passenger-side floorboard. You could also have a...- Squirrelmaster

Brake Pad Oddness
Keep in mind that depending on what part store you go to, their catalog of the correct parts can be wildly incorrect, which is what I am assuming is the case here as there is zero difference between the 2003 and 2004 brakes on the Sport Trac. More than likely the pads they list as "2003" model...- Squirrelmaster

Help! Muffled tin can sound in rear.
Can you identify where the sound is coming from (front, back, left, right, etc.)? Does the sound occur when you are sitting still and you turn the wheel, or only when you are moving and turning? Does it do it more severely should you hit a bump, or does that make no difference? A few more...- Squirrelmaster

2001 Sport Trac questions about shocks springs, and cost.
The shocks are an easy fix, however the problems you are describing do not sound like a shock issue. When you say, "the front end wobbles from side to side and the entire frame is getting closer to the ground", what do you mean? Is there a shimmy or shake associated with the wobble, or is it a...- Squirrelmaster

Cracked Bed ?
I'm with cross1189: that makes zero sense. Load rating is determined by variables that have little to no basis on engine selection, such as bed material, frame size, suspension components, axle strength, wheel strength, and tire load rating. Of my two 2500HD's, my '01 gas engine-equipped...- Squirrelmaster

Cracked Bed ?
If you had the entire axle laying across the bed then most of the weight would be focused primarily at the differential, which would also be the first spot to touch the bed, which could easily be enough to crack the bed if you hit any abrupt bumps. Again, these trucks weren't designed for heavy...- Squirrelmaster

Cracked Bed ?
If all the weight was focused in roughly one spot that could have done it. I don't know for certain if it would work, but you may be able to use a plastic resin or epoxy to seal the bed back together. It wouldn't be easy, but it may be doable. Tom- Squirrelmaster

HID in 2005 Sport Trac
As to what shon referred to with the relays is how you would power the ballasts for the HIDs. Instead of using the existing headlight wiring to power the ballasts, you run power directly from the battery to the ballasts and use a relay, tripped by the existing headlight wiring, to turn on the...- Squirrelmaster

HID in 2005 Sport Trac
Well, like shon said, no our headlights are not projector type. With that said, HID's are meant to be run only in projector assembly headlights, as the cut-off point of the light in projectors is much more precise, which keeps the lights from blinding others on the road. HID's are also not...- Squirrelmaster

SAS on a Sport Trac
I know jackflash, as I'm the one who directed him to this board, and he is thinking of swapping both axles, front and rear, with the ones for a JK because he can get them (relatively) cheap from Mopar as complete assemblies, and switching both would give him a 5 on 5" bolt pattern all around...- Squirrelmaster

Headlight lamp
Keep in mind that HIDs are generally illegal in all but OEM applications, so if the vehicle didn't come from the factory with them, they are illegal (again, in general, as it varies from state to state). 04 Sport trac Lift of any kind
He's saying it only says '01 and '02 because they don't update their information, as the trucks are identical from '01 thru '05. With that being the case, pretty much anything that works on an '01 or '02 will work on an '03 thru '05. Tom- Squirrelmaster
