60,000 Mile Maintenance & Goodies
Rapidly approaching the 60k mark in our 2014 Limited. We never made it far enough in our 2011 to worry about brakes, struts/shocks, etc. I'd like to go ahead and do some minor enhancements to the brakes, suspension and engine/exhaust all at once. Are there any reputable vendors with...- TxRanger351w

We're Back
Well, on 11/21/13 we traded in our 2011 XLT with 36,000 miles for a 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. Took delivery of this pretty gal today. 2014 Limited 302A- TxRanger351w

2nd Row Sliding?
(Long winded, I was typing this in response to another post, then realized it just wasn't on that topic.) We traded our 2011 Explorer in with 36,000 miles on a 2013 GMC Acadia Denali. The biggest reason was that the second row bench in the Explorer is in a fixed position. We had a 2nd...- TxRanger351w

Small Overlap Test
Has anyone heard of the 2011+ Explorer being put through the IIHS small overlap test? *EDIT* (I can see on the IIHS site they haven't tested the vehicle. Disturbing.) I can't find any on their site except for the oblique. I'm curious as to how the Explorer rated. The Escape didn't look too...- TxRanger351w

2011 XLT w/ MFT - A/C Controls Rapid Switching?
I haven't been able to reproduce this error yet, however, my wife called me while it was happening and I thought it odd. The problem: The air conditioning / climate controls will rapidly change modes on her. While it is happening the "tone" that the controls make when you touch them will...- TxRanger351w

3.5 V6 Fuel Mileage - Instant MPG Pictures
Thought I'd post this for everyone to see. I was doing 70 mph and getting just under 30 mpg. I can get 35 mpg when doing 60 - 65mph. For the record, I live in Southeast Texas ...it's flat here.- TxRanger351w

Towing without Tow Package
We didn't get the tow package and I don't really anticipate towing anything with the Explorer (I have a truck and an 18' 10,000# lowboy for that). However, I thought about buying the receiver hitch and installing it in the event that we ever towed a light load such as a mini-trailer (less than...- TxRanger351w

Adding Navigation Later
Adding Navigation if not factory equipped? I purchased a 2011 XLT with MFT for my wife back in April. The vehicle didn't have navigation enabled from the factory, but the salesman said it could be added just by purchasing the card. The parts counter said that someone had attempted this, but it...- TxRanger351w

V8 Balancer/Pulley and Accessories Questions
I'm using a 97 Explorer front end dress on my 351w Ranger conversion. I have the brackets mounted. I also have the water pump and timing cover on. Now it's time to take care of the crank pulley. I got ahold of a regular 5.0 Explorer balancer and took it to a machine shop to have it...- TxRanger351w

Hi, throttle body question (5.0)
Hi, I'm new here from RPS. I've been undergoing the V8 conversion for quite some time now. I'm using the GT-40 lower for 5.8 and the Explorer upper. The upper isn't here yet, but it doesn't have the 90* elbow or throttle body. I've done a search on here, although it's tough to sort through the...- TxRanger351w
