    cheap lifters

    Does anyone know where I can get lifters for a '91 4.0 at a reasonable price? I realize they are roller lifters, but Ford parts wants WAY too much. I remember someone posting a place that specializes in 4.0 engines, but can't find the post now that I need it.

    Lifter replacement without removing heads?

    Can anyone confirm that you can replace ALL of the lifters in a 91 4.0L without removing the heads? There was a post on this board a while ago stating you can if you remove (and replace) the plastic caps on the tops of the lifters while they are in the block. I'm assuming this simply makes...

    Yet another tick, tick tick

    Sorry for the repost, but I think I posted to a dead thread - so here goes again. I got in my explorer one day and the thing just started ticking at 95K miles (parked on a steep hill like MichaelF described, hood pointed down) From that day on, and for the past 3 years, I hear about 3 of them...
