The immobiliser light should be OFF during driving. The overdrive light comes ON when overdrive is disabled so normally the light should be OFF.

Hi, Why not just use a regular resistor? It won't be anything special just because it's from Ford! I would say you need a 1ohm or possibly 2ohm. Just buy a couple of each they cost pennies from your local electronics shop or online via ebay or a million other places..

Mine was pretty bad all over. I patched it with 'chemical metal'. It too lasted about four years. However it finally went again and I couldn't face repairing it so I got a used one from the states but they are all like brand new over there! Pretty much anything you get over here has suffered...

I agree. If that was a purposefully done mod then it has little if any use. Maybe it was done to try and cure a fault? The opposite mod is sometimes done whereby the low box engages but the 4x4 doesn't (brown wire mod) this can have some uses.

All the info is out there. I have done this personally on two Explorers I've owned. You need to access the immobiliser module behind the n/s rear trim panel. You also need to access the wiring at the tank fuel pump. Once you have access to these the wiring is very simple.

It won't work because the single button fobs don't have transponder (chipped) keys. This is good because the immobiliser can be bypassed with simple wiring.

Hi, Is it possible that you let air into the ABS block. I've heard that thay are hard to bleed properly and that may throw a check light? I'm just guessing though. Another suggestion is that some wiring got disturbed while routing the new pipework? Of course there is always 'coincidence'...
