Front Wheel Bearings - failed after 5000 miles

on my first front end rebuild, I had both top arms, lower ball joints and drop links from them. 20,000 miles later I had to replace the whole lot (all worn) I put this down to it was the normal life span. I replaced the whole front end again with bits from Rock Auto and they were still...

    LPG question for Gas owners

the reducer in a sequencial LPG system reduces the pressure of the LPG in it's liquid form and delivers the lower pressure to the injectors. The reducer has a water feed from the engine coolant (usually from the car heater feed as it will get warmer faster) it needs this feed to make the...

    LPG question for Gas owners

I don't think it is plugs personally. Explorers on LPG like standard coper plugs but even fitting exotic plugs will not effect the running to the extent you are seeing and if they were as shot as to make it run on 1 cylinder on gas you would find iy would run just as badly on petrol. I...

    MOT failure

you will not get the discs off untill you have slackend the handbreak shoes off. re the star adjusters, impossible to say which way slackens them off as they can be installed either way and of course as they are not handed, they will be opposite to each other on either side of the car. If...

    half shafts

there will always be side to side play but depends on how much. normal end float is less than 2mm if excessive, play can be found in the LSD clutch packs and shims and the C washers. not difficult to put right and not too expensive, also makes sense to do the outer bearings at the same...

    LPG Failure

Hi Jon I received the pictures, the one below has all the elements in. Item 2 is the control box (system processor) I would check the plugs for corrosion and do the wiggle test with the engine running on gas. Item 3 is the square wave emulator that fools the PCM into thinking it has a...

    LPG Failure

the control box is the leonardo box under the bonnet. it is highly likley there are 3 or 4 boxes under the bonnet the Leonardo control unit the switch over relay (you will be able the hear the click on switchover an Injector emulator (failure of this will cause a DTC to be generated as...

    LPG Failure

It's obviously a loose electrical connection to either the control box or more likley the switch over relay. AS I expect you know, on single point systems, you switch over to gas at 2000 rpm. the control box reads the RPM (from the red lead connected to the ignition coil) and detects when...

central locking - fuse 18 blowing

the door lock and unlock relays are located in the rear nearside cubby hole, in front of the rear washer bottle. All the relays are the same so you can change them about and are standard types. The lock and unlock switches operate by switching earth to the relays. if both lock and...

    New Owner

looking at your DTC's I would also check the fuel pressure at the rail, for both banks to be lean like that would mean quite a few of the o rings are shot when a faulty pressure regulator or pump or blocked filter would also cause these symtoms. cheers Jim
