PLEASE HELP! 4wd button.. which wire goes where?

I had to remove my dash last weekend and three of the wires came out of the back of the 4wd 8-pin connector. Can anyone tell me how these wires are supposed to go into this plug? Like which color goes where?

The Generals are awesome, Great grip off road. I'm kinda over the red letters though, they are fading and all dirty, so I will probably flip them black out. I haven't re-geared yet, but I do plan on doing 4.10s in it. Just had the transmission re-built and so far so good. Trans-temp hovers right...

Visual, mechanical, whatever. I just like wrenching. Mine has a 2" Skyjacker lift, Warn manual front hubs, 31x10.50R-15LT General Grabbers, soon to be installed Skyjacker steering stabilizer, and a rebuilt (hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow.) A4LD beefed up a little so it hopefully doesn't...

Haha, got hit in the front end, slowly fixing it piece by piece. I plan to build a bumper for it, just haven't gotten around to it. You may notice the paint doesn't match on the LF fender. It's a work in progress, but aren't they all?

Hey guys, I'm looking for ideas on mods and would like to see pics of some first gens... here is what mine looks like: Also, I would like to make friends with fellow forum members in AZ. I don't have a lot of buddies with 4WD vehicles, so would like to find some wheeling buddies.

    New Tires...

So far with my experience they have been good in the mud... they self clean well. They won't be good in snow because they have absolutely no siping. Most max-traction tires are like that. Obviously I don't see much snow so...

    HELP!! Steering Wheel Noise!!

I know exactly what this is, I had the same problem. Inside the steering wheel itself there is a lead weight. Mine came unglued at one point and started making a loud clunking. Just take the cover off of the wheel and remove the weight.

    New Tires...

The tires are 31x10.50R15LT General Grabber (Red Letter). The wheels are MB 72's in Matte Black. They are 15x8 with a -19 offset. They are a Discount Tire exclusive. Some of you may know that I work at Discount Tire. I actually think the offset is just right... a little aggressive but not too...

    New Tires...

Hey guys, just put a 2" Skyjacker lift on my 1992 XLT because I got a new set of tires from General. Check it out and tell me what you think. The tires are phenomenal off road BTW.

    off-roading tires

It sounds like this vehicle will be off-road the majority of the time. If you really want a good tire for what you are using it for you would want to go with a Maximum-Traction tire. The problem is that M/T's aren't good in snow. The answer to that is siping them. Places like Discount Tire...

    4.10 gears

Hey guys, I have a 92 XLT 4wd and I just became very fortunate and picked up a free set of 31x10.50R15 General Grabber (the ones with the red letters). Now I used to have a set of 31x1050R15 Hankook Dynapro MT RT03s on it, but i took them off because my truck was a total dog with them on it...

    Putting on Soft 8

Good point... 8" is a good fit for a 12.5 inch wide tire... make sure you do run a lower tire pressure on the street though in order to make your tires wear nicely. We have seen a few problems with separations on improper tire-wheel applications, and this is why matching up the proper width is...

    Putting on Soft 8

An easy way to explain this is that higher offsets will tuck the wheel up underneath the fender as a lower offset pushes the wheel outside of the fender. On a stock vehicle a wide stance (lower offset) will cause the tire to rub the fender as well as look a little funny. On a lifted vehicle...

    Putting on Soft 8

BFG recommends a 8.5-11.5 inch for a 35x1250. I would probably recommend a 10" wide wheel with a negative offset for this application. If you go narrower than 8.5 on this tire you will put too much stress on the belt package and cause uneven tire wear and possible separation. If you go to...

    Putting on Soft 8

15x8 5-4.5 Unique 297 on Tires.com... go with the -12 offset for a lifted application or a +6 for a stock application. I have a 15x7 0 offset on my '92 at stock height. Any wheel/tire questions... feel free to ask... its what I do for a living.

    Daystar 2" Front Spring spacer

I have a 92 XLT 4wd that I am trying to get a tiny bit more ground clearance out of. I found a "leveling kit" by Daystar which is basically a 2" spring spacer for the front for under $100. Will this be worth the money? How do I get the rear up 2"?
