    Wire connectors have me stumped

Son of a biscuit :( I have not put the exhaust back on yet but as soon as I looked at the pipes there they were, it explains why there are two connectors the same. You make me wish I asked a few days ago. Thank you again you have no idea of the frustration you have eleminated.

    Wire connectors have me stumped

It is a SOHC and the wires are on both sides they would have been part of the chassis harness as I had no wires on the engine when I installed it. I did have the transmission cross member disconnected and dropped the trans until the intake was hitting the firewall trying to see up in there as...

    Wire connectors have me stumped

I have the engine back in but ran into a roadblock with two connectors between the firewall and back of engine. I have two connectors within a foot of each other that are the same shape and color and can not locate any other connectors in the area. When first trying to hook them up I did not...

Torque converter stud to flex plate alignment

There in permanently now, from the top was the way to go with a long extension below the motor mount bracket and frame. Evidently my hand thigthen was more than the 30lb torque called for and that's how they'll stay. I think I could have caused more of a future problem from loosening them and...

Torque converter stud to flex plate alignment

I've got all the nuts tighten down with a 3/8 ratchet, now I need to figure out getting a torque wrench on them with out dropping the front axle. I tried a lot of combinations of extensions and universal joints from the bottom with no luck so far. I'll go back out in a while and try it from the top.

Torque converter stud to flex plate alignment

Well they're in I pried between the engine and transmission so I could rotate the converter by finger until my color coded stud came to the mid position in the starter hole then turned the engine by hand until it was almost lined up and then just played with it until it went in. Now I just...

Torque converter stud to flex plate alignment

That might have worked if my eye sight was better :( I got the engine stabbed by myself pretty fast. I'm thinking later today to put a few bell housing bolts in and slid the engine away from the converter just a tad then slide a Slim Jim door tool in and see if I can hook a stud and move the...

How to: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Parts Removal Procedure

One suggestion I'd like to make that I have not seen in any of these threads but consider stuffing something into the cylinder head oil return ports when using the OTC tool kit, it would be a bugger to drop one of the small bolts into the engine being that close to being finished with it (I did...

    right balance shaft sprocket torque

Kind of late to the show but in the picture there is a hole in the block about the 3 o'clock position the gear has marks on two teeth which are aligned up one on each side of the hole then stick a 4mm pin in the hole. Mine was not tight when I took it off in fact I thought it slip when it came...

How to: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Parts Removal Procedure

That could very well explain the thread lock on all the mounting bolts, the new bolts from Ford were all bare threads.

How to: SOHC V6 Timing Chain Parts Removal Procedure

First let me say what an excellent thread I have to say it's equal to or better than the Ford shop disc for reference and procedure. The only thing I did not see made reference to or maybe I have one someone worked on in the past but just about every single bolt I touched had red thread lock...

    1998 Washer fluid problem

Once again this site has saved me a ton of time, swapped the relay like mentioned above and the front washers worked so it was just a matter of getting another relay from a donor vehicle out back and I'm up and running with washers for this winter. Thank you all.
