OK guys, I will do what I will do. I have given you all the chemical make up of 304 SS. You must not understand it or get it. I have given you researched and sourced info and not some words out of the side of my mouth.I am not niave, just informed. Keep doing what you are doing guys. It...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

Its obvious that I am the only one that has done the research here, so as to who is getting it, it is quite apparent. 304 SS is the same stuff almost all of them use, American or Chinese. Some even use a mild 16 gauge steel for the factory ceramic coated ones. The 5/16" flange is also what...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

I have a set and I am waiting on the funds to get them coated! Now that I have shown you evidence, you change your argument from the alloy/type of steel to the structural integrity. I promise you when I can get the money to have them coated, I will report back on here as to how the are holding up.

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

Yet again you are proving my point that none of those instances reflect on the "Jet Hot Coating" that needs to be applied to protect the headers. If you coat the headers you will not have those issues.

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

This isn't about getting the last word Turdle. Its about whether or not that a coating, Jet Hot Coating, an American process of protecting these metals can hold up and protect them. You keep glossing over these facts.

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

And that is what I said 'A Substantial Difference" So substantial in fact, that if any one claims that it is not enough to protect so called cheaper alloys then that burden of proof relies on you. Take into account that they coat the inside and outside of the headers. So the idea of rusting...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

Here is a quote from you on the on the post "Torque Monster headers making comeback ???" "I doubt China (OBX) would even understand the concept of a group buy. However, I can tell you the original TM price is very fair. There is 275.00 worth of Jet coating on them alone, which is a...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

The only claim that I said was about the coating, even you know that one is coated and one is not. That alone can make a substantial difference, would you not agree? His claim is that even with the coating, they would still be worthless because of the metal alloys. WRONG!!! Go to the JET HOT...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

You seem to always be right on top of knocking down these headers, why is that? Can you show me some source to this cheaper metal being used? If not, then I think you are just talking out of the side of your mouth. Put your money where your mouth is and show some evidence! Otherwise they are...

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

Of course there is a difference between the TMH headers and the OBX headers. TMH headers are JET HOT coated, where as the OBX are not. That is why you save money on the OBX as well. If you JET HOT coat the OBX headers, they are the SAME!!!!

I have also found another product that might be beneficial as well. It is an internal exhaust coating from Eastwood. http://www.jegs.com/i/Eastwood/352/13795Z/10002/-1 Depending on whether jet-hot coats the internals or even going the DIY route, you could add this to help with the headers heat.

I am not sure of the the process either, but you could contact the company Jet Hot and ask! http://www.jet-hot.com/ There are a myriad of colors to choose from as well as other options, you would have to contact them or there are other vendors that specifically do this as well. Just look...

I have a 98 rebuilt 5.0 with a cam, port and polished heads, 4:10 gear ratio, lower stall speed torque converter, a shift kit in the tranny, secondary tranny cooler and other minor modifications to the igniton system and its basically designed for towing in the mountains. How to: 3rd row seating in a 1st & 2nd gen Explorer

The GEO Tracker also has that very same type of seat! I pulled it and its seat-belts and have been working on the same idea with the same seat. I am setting up a slightly different mounting since my seat will be rear facing. But it all fits in the back perfectly.

    OBX Exhaust Header Manifold FITS 97 98 99 00 01 Explorer Mountaineer 5.0L V8

From reading all the pages on here, this is what I have gleaned about what I am going to do. I just ordered my set of headers and; First = Get a Jet Hot ceramic coating and I don't see why it would be any different than the TM headers. Second = Get good quality one piece gaskets! Whatever...

Body Mount replacement - Where to place jack to lift body

Definitely loosen ALL the bolts first! You don't want things to bend, you want them to adjust into place! Use Blocks of Wood as a soft but stable cushion between the body and the jack, again, it prevents bending things! I, personally, put the jack in the middle, between the doors, under...
