    Whine noise while accelerating/cruising

    I was told it was a differential problem. worn gears, pinion, etc... Mine is doing the same thing.

    95 explorer whining rear end

    I just got a 95 ford explorer. There is a whine coming from the rear end. I've done my searches and reading. I'm taking a long shot and going to change the fluid first, to see if it will reduce the whine. I went to get gear oil, but there are various kinds... 75/90, 80/90, 85/140, 75/140...

    Need Diff I.D.

    On door panel it says T 45, is that mean it is a 3.55 Conventional Diff? If so on ebay there are some rebuild kits for a 8.8 ring and pinion...is that what goes in a 1995 Explorer?
