Well I did exactly what most of yall told me to do. I sprayed the MAP or MAF with some intake cleaner and it sounds like it took care of it I appreciate all your help and I definitely will be asking for ya'll s help down the road, probably next weekend.

How did you manage that? Make a lot of changes like with the pistons, or anything like that? How different is it from stock to you?

    pinging in engine

I appreciate it. I will try that. Also, do you think that my spark plugs or wires could cause it? I am sure ya'll know that the way they run the wires so close to the block, I have seen some heat marks. I know I should replace them but I was wondering if there could be some other reason.

    pinging in engine

it is the v8 engine. It never starting to make that sound until recently. It almost sounds either like a pinging or a girgling, if you can understand that. I would rather fix the problem than hide. I am poor enough as it is. Yes, I am new to this so I have no idea what I am doing on here. Thanks...

    pinging in engine

I am starting to get this small pinging when my 98 explorer 4wd is in drive. It is very distinctive when the car shifts down to overdrive or just at low rpm's. Can anyone give me pointers on what I can do? I really could use it before I make a $$ mistake. Thanks!
