Forgot about the t-top models. I used a piece of door sheetmetal for support, cut about 3/4 of an inch bigger that the mirror gasket. This should be enough to support the extra weight. I had an old Ranger door laying around and cut it out so that it would have the same contour.

Did you ever wire up the mirrors? I have been thinking of doing this mod to my ranger for years. Late 80's mustang convertible mirrors are the same as the escorts as well. I want to put a set on my 90' BII as well.
