    Power door lock problem.

    Not sure about yours, but on the 98 it's an electronic actuator not a motor. If you hit the unlock button and you don't hear any movement or noise towards the bottom rear of the door then it's either the actuator, or as some have mentioned, a shorted out wire.

    Ok, so 8 hours later..... A spring broke in the latch assembly and in the handle. Ford does not make it easy to repair and replace these two items. Wrangling the latch and actuator around the window slide rail was a PITA. But it's back together and working. $100. :thumbsup:

    It's only the passenger door (2-door sport) and will not unlock by switch, fob, or key. It does make a noise like it's trying to unlock, but it doesn't. I read a few posts from folks having identical issues, but the post was either hijacked or was the hijacker, and they were never fully...
