    98 SOHC Sport, wierd metal noise.

    Check for pebbles/debris caught between the heat shield and exhaust/catalytic system under your Exploder oops I mean Explorer. :( This is very common from my experience and more of a nuisance than anything. Good luck!

    What's wrong with YOUR Ex?

    I wouldn't buy another one.... I personally will never buy another Ford product. After buying a used (rental) '98 XLT and having nothing but troubles then finally transmission failure, I wrote it off to being a rental. I love the style, handling, everything about the Explorer, matches our life...
