I am confused because the manual states "When the vehicle has not been driven and outside temperature is above 50 F (10 C) the fluid level should be between the holes on the dipstick." Makes it seem like the engine should not be running. Thanks for the replies

I thought it was supposed to be checked cold without the engine running after it sat for a while (overnight)?? Is this incorrect? Thanks
