    New / Need Explorer Advice

My wife has a 14 Explorer Sport. We have had it nearly a year and it currently has almost 15k. We downsized from an Expedition as we just didn't need the space on a daily basis with 2 kids. Our first year has been flawless. We have traveled to Myrtle Beach (about 450 miles each way) and...

    car matchmaker TV show

I seen that too! I loved the discussion about the navigation systems. The Ford version was the best of the three. MFT often gets a bad rap (deservedly so at times) but it was much more effective in their example.

    Possible New Owner Questions

My wife drives a 14 Sport. We have 2 kids, a 6' tall 14 year old and a 7 year old in a booster. We have 2nd row buckets with a console between them. The buckets slide fore and aft which made it nice for legroom. Our Sport is pretty much loaded. I personally love the NAV and Sony stereo. Our...

2014 Sport "engine missing" at highway speeds

Hello all. Wife drives a 2014 sport. Bought it in March and it now has 12k miles. It has been a great vehicle and we both enjoy driving it. Tons of power, great handling, braking, comfortable, etc. We just returned from our "mini" vacation we take every fall to Gatlinburg TN. About 350 miles...

Strange Steering Issue in 2014 Ford Explorer Sport

Honestly, we have gotten use to it. It is inherent to having so much torque driving through a front wheel drive biased system. Even though the sport is AWD, power transfer still goes through the front wheels. The sport has the same ecoboost as in the F150 but with less torque. I presume they...

Strange Steering Issue in 2014 Ford Explorer Sport

It is called " torque steer". Completely normal for the power the Sport has. My wife has a 14 Sport and asked the same question.

    Explorer hood vibrates

Ours too I think. I have been hearing a strange wind noise over 75 mph and it has been driving me nuts. Almost like a howling noise from somewhere in front of the windshield. My wife drives it daily so I next time I drive it I will look at the hood a little closer.

    2014 Sport Engine Hesitation/Stumble

2014 Sport going into shop Decided to have the 55-65mph "bucking" looked into. We have 5500 miles on it now and took a mini road trip this weekend to Hazard Ky. The main route is 2 lane with 55 mph speed limit. It was noticeable on the drive. Steady cruise you could feel small misfires /...

    2014 Sport Engine Hesitation/Stumble

I found the hose clamps a little loose from the intercooler (or whatever they call it). One of the tubes was actually pulled out some from the connection hose. I tightened every clamp I could get a screwdriver on. Easy to check. Pass side of engine was where mine was loose. You could have a...

First oil change on the 14 Sport and a little review

Wanted to do the first one a little early-4300 miles. Had it since March 1st. I am trying the new Pennzoil Platinum from natural gas in both the Explorer and my 5.0 F150. I like the claim of cleaner pistons. I didn't know how hard it would be to change the oil and to my surprise it was actually...

    Little bit of Buyers Remorse....

We bought the wife a Sport a couple of months ago. We needed to replace her ailing Expedition. We narrowed it down to the Explorer and the GC. In the end, she picked the Explorer due to it's versatility. Once I helped "hook" her, I introduced the Sport package. She wanted captains chairs for the...

    2nd Row Sliding?

To answer your question, yes the captains chairs slide. We just bought a 14 Sport and that was a big benefit. We also have the console (option). My kids are 13 and 6 and we downsized from an Expedition. The Sport is a ball to drive and the Explorer in general seems to be a well built vehicle...

2nd Row Bucket Seats - Neep Pics!

Our new 14 Sport has the buckets and console. The console was a must have for us. 2 kids and we needed the storage. We preferred it as well because with no console, there were no armrests on the outboard side of the seats.

Suggestions of Tint? 15% All Around?

I did matching 20% on the front two windows of our 10 XLT. It is white suede with black leather. Nice and clean looking I think.

    New from WV

Hello all. Just to introduce myself. Diehard Ford fan here. My current rides are the 91 GT and 01 Excursion (that was hard to find!) in my signature. Joined this forum as my wife just traded her 09 Wrangler X on a 2010 Explorer. Local lots only have leftovers and I wanted the tried and true...
