If you can add steering wheel controls for the radio if the explorer isn't equipped with it?

Wrecked my '01 sport, I ran a red light, i don't recommend it to anyone, soooo... i replaced it with an '05 explorer XLT seems to be pretty loaded, reasonable payments and i can't find anything wrong with it, anything in particular i should look for? It has the 4.6, is this a reliable vehicle...

Factory radio in my 01 sport has the rear radio controls, i'm wondering if you can keep that functional if you put an aftermarket unit in that has steering wheel controls for an option in the new head Unit. I'm thinking of a navigation unit double din to make it look factory.

I've been looking and i'm wondring where i can get my 01 sport some running boards or factory step bars, any ideas?

Hiya, newbie here, I live in Omaha nebraska and haven't yet, but am in the process of purchasing a 2001 explorer sport. I've been reading up on all the issues with these vehicles and thankfully, i'm a Mechanic. The one i'm buying has 153000 miles on it, thankfully it's quiet and no timing chain...
