I am towing with a V-6 no cooler.

My 2007 to me shifts a little fast or to quick from 1st to 2nd. Is there something out there that will improve this. A new chip or burn the board like they do for diesels. If this makes no sense ask some questions, because I am not sure I am stating the question the way it makes sense...

FWIW: I tow a 21' Seacraft in the same weight range, and I have no problems. It's not the towing...it's the stopping. Be sure and allow for plenty of space if the trailer does not have brakes.

The shock has small clip on each end. So you pop those off and the shock should pull off .

That has always been a Ford deal. Make a zillion different changes in the same model and in the same year. I think the new CEO has changed that philosophy.

I checked the Under Cover out, and it looks good, except for my purpose the solid one piece cover won't work.

What I see different between the bakflip and k covers is this. On the K Cover you can access the front or back of the bed. You only get 75 % access to the full bed. The bakflip allows you to access 100 % of the bed. The way I use my Sport Trac I like the K Cover better. Still...

Truck is gone for the weekend...(a buddy using it). When it shows up Sunday I will measure and take a picture of the whole set up. I think that this may have give Ford a little head ache in the warranty area and thus the switch in 2008.

The whole idea was not to spend $150.00 but to get a replacement part at a fair price. Thanks to ncranchero post I found the part for $16.00 To answer the other questions is yes I use the storage area, and I liked the idea of pulling the release catch and having the lid pop open. :D

Well maybe that explains why it cost $225.00 for the strut. The first year they put it in and after that they said hell with it. I think when you release the latch the strut is suppose to pop it and then lift it open and keep it in place. I will find out when I get the part.

Picture When looking at the rear window from the back of the truck it is on the left side of the hatch when it opens. It is approx. 8 inches long and 5.75 inches compressed. Where are you in SW FL? I am near Boca Grande (not Raton).
