upon tearing the dash to peices i did come across 3 wires taped together. a blue, orange and green wire. possibly what used to be the valet overide? i have no clue. and this thing is driving me nuts

i recently bought a 2001 mountaineer limited. it has the premium stereo, and a factory installed sub and amp. but as i do not have the rds button i dont seem to be able to unmute the sub. any help would be great before i go cutting and splicing like crazy :)
