The top pins seem to rust faster than the bottom, as my bottoms are fine. It's really and easy fix, if you have access to some basic tools.

I did not notice anything out of the ordinary with my lift gate. It was functioning one day, the next the balls broke off the mounts. I would suggest looking at the mounts to see what kind of shape they are in.

So I hit up the hardware store today and came up with a fix that I will post, after I have the details ironed out. Bolt washer, both stainless, and grommets. I plan on grinding them down a little bit, to make them look a little better, also a coat of paint. I'm not sure if anyone else has...

I am trying to find the hardware that connects the gas struts to the rear window hatch. One of mine is severely corroded, the other should be replace before it gets worse. I have not been able to find them on any of the typical parts sites I check. The struts are easy, the hardware itself...

Yeah it's weird, i can find 91-97 and 99-2001, but 98 5.0 is impossible to find.

Thanks for the link. Does it matter that they say up to 97? I have found them for 97's before, but never a 98.

I'm not really worried about the cheap, but I have not found a K&N setup for a 5.0. Seems like the kts that I have seen are for the v6's. I just started looking though.

Please post what you come up with, or a guide, as I would be interested in doing something similar to this with my mounty.
