    CRAP! Power steering reservoir cap

Yea the local scrap wouldn't take the time of day to check. Or would sell me the whole assembly. I should have kept track of the part numbers Ive tried. I Dont know if I have a different reservoir or what, but it uses a rather small cap. I still have one on hand I can write that one down and go...

    2000 Ford Explorer won't start

The way you were starting it is not really an issue. Its just a habit a lot of car guys have so when you turn the key to fire its a quick crank and on since it was primed. A couple possibilities from past issues Ive had is coolant temp sensors, a bad maf. And not an issue I have had but it...

    CRAP! Power steering reservoir cap

Replaced my powersteering pump last summer, and my buddy lost the cap to the reservoir. I tried buying different ones from the parts store, and they never got me the right one. Its winter now, and I need an actual cap on it so my wife can drive it around. Any one have one or a part number...

Did add a leaf, shackels and 883BL today

Looks awesome dude. I was about to scrap mine, and decided to just slowly bring it back. Normally not one for fixing rust, but I figure the rough body lets me give zero fu%$s on a trail. 209k on it, and starts every single day, and runs perfectly smooth. Hard to let it go, so I wont haha.

    Another bad PS pump?!?!

Im having issues myself, for the last year my pump has been whining loudly. Finally replaced it last night, and now while trying to bleed it with the truck running, wheels in the air and turning the wheel, the steering wheel will randomly start shaking very violently until I shut off the engine...

    WTB 00' explorer parts!

I cant seem to find anyone parting out explorers around me. Mine is either ready for the junkyard, or I need some parts to keep it going. If anyone knows a good source, or has the following parts (which will be updated from time to time) I could use them! -Hood rubber stops. (may be why it...

    newb 00' mountaineer 5.0 AWD

Couple shots pulling out of a river bed. Had to have a couple guys sit on the hood as I let it eat and saw'd back and forth. And here my friend stopped at an inconvenient spot and sank a good 2 feet. I managed to pull him out, and he reattempted with significant speed and actually managed to...

    Sprung a leak (photos)

I thought I was in the 95-01...clearly I cant click on the right stuff. My mistake! If it has enough line I will try cutting the line and re-tightening. Hopefully not a lot of fluid will come out of there.

    Sprung a leak (photos)

Recently a leak has started on my 2000 mountaineer 5.0 that wasnt there at all before. While simply tightening a clamp MAY fix the issue. I want to show you guys what I see, in case something else may be occurring. Perhaps a plugged cooler or crimped line? Hidden out of view in this shot is...

    newb 00' mountaineer 5.0 AWD

Welding the tube to square stock, and welding the square stock to the frame. Brackets would work...but this is faster. Stick welding to the frame Completing the installation As you can see its not incredibly strong without adding some triangulation. Which later we may go ahead and make a...

    newb 00' mountaineer 5.0 AWD

Looks like my photos stopped working. Heres a picture after I plasti-dipped the lower section that was tan: Heres a shot from a trail: Had an idea for a small push bar and threw that together on saturday morning. Idea is to mount it behind the bumper brackets and still utilize the factory...

210,000 miles on the 99 sport and going strong.

My door handles flap in a breeze but the engine wont die. Last night I did rotors and pads up front, Im afraid they may outlast the truck. With a long list of little things to fix and replace... power steering pump, shocks, ball joints, door handle springs, exhaust manifold, and body work...

210,000 miles on the 99 sport and going strong.

Nice, Mine is rolling over 207k here soon. Engine runs strong, everything around it is falling to pieces. I bought with high miles from a soccer mom...just trashed visually. Not a leak, seep, drip or oil burning.

5.0 engine squeak: Not the belt!

granted Ive known mine had this issue for a while now. Sprayed some WD40 just on and around it. Squeek stopped at idle. Still screams once the revs are up. Just thought Id see what it does. My guess is a seal there went bad and the mud and water and dirt got inside. But no big loss, I see the...

    newb 00' mountaineer 5.0 AWD

Hello, Ive been lurking here for a long time as I was deciding what I wanted for a fun/practical vehicle. I picked up this 2000 mountaineer Monterey 5.0 awd for cheap with 204k on it. Now the serp belt or a bearing squeels, and the power steering whines. But other than that seems to work fine...
