Can anyone tell me the stock hp rating on a 1st gen. 4.0? Within this forum I've seen 130hp, that sounds kind of low. An engine rebuilder told me 170hp.

The "front" heat quit working in my wifes Windstar and there is an extremely annoying thumping going on inside the dash. I was thinking it was the damper in the ductwork that opens and closes exposing the heater core. Could anyone offer any ideas?
