    Head Gasket blown

This is taken straight from Mitchell Manual... First Step - Tighten to 44 ft lbs. Step Two - Tighten to 59 ft lbs. Step Three - Tighten each bolt an additonal 80-85 degree turn (Full 90 degrees is fine) Tightening Sequence is shown below...

    No Radio

:salute: There is a seperate fuse that powers the radio. I think it's fuse #10 and don't remember what the size is off the top of my head. The amp I know is #16 cause I just replaced mine a couple weeks ago.

    Head Gasket blown

You did install new head bolts right? If you did and torqued them properly then they should be fine.

    No Radio

Check fuse#16 under the dash at the fuse block and see if it's blown. It's a 20A fuse that powers the premium radio amplifier.

The power behind the ohv 4.0

With your pedal all the way to the floor, what position is your intake butterfly in? Any way to snap a picture?

The power behind the ohv 4.0

Where are you throttling it driving around town? Is there a significant difference going from say 40mph to 70? And yes rpm does sound about right. While it's in park if you floor it where does your tach ping out at?

The power behind the ohv 4.0

When you say wide open are you meaning full open throttle? Actually the 4.0 is quite the work horse. I have no problem driving 65 to 70 on the freeway at about 2000 rpm +/-. It tows farily well also. Granted I would hope no one is attempting to tow a 30' RV behind it. What condition is your...

Interesting news article I read today...

I for one have never had the previlage to experience a misfire on any of my cylinders on my Ex yet, but in case anyone does this might be something of interest. I know Motorcraft plugs are basically re-branded Autolites (which I think is still owned by Honeywell) which is why this caught my...

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

I am actually looking forward to seeing this if you can find it. It's interesting you mention that because I was told by a buddy of mine why not consider going something along the lines of a Volvo conversion. I shyed away from that idea since I am not too farmilar with Volvo. Might have to...

    Intake advice

Yeah you can't beat the half off sales at the local bone yards here. Especially as much inventory we have for first gen Ex's I take as much advantage as I can get. In fact the next one is on Easter weekend so need to save up a few $$$ before hand

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

Yeah I figure it's going to cost me a few dollars to do it right. I've been on the search for a good project vehicle to work on and if I can stick a diesel in my current Honda Accord commuter right now I would do it in a heartbeat. There is just something about diesel smoke and hot coffee in the...

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

Yeah thats what I am afraid of. I would hate to go through that expense and find out that I can't make it street legal. From what I read, that youtube video of somebody installing a 4BT in his 98 XLT was getting close to the 28mpg range. Not sure how true that is but I would love to make mine a...

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

Hmm,...interesting. Never considered a 6.5L before. I figured something of that size would take a hefty amount of modification and fab in order to make it work. Might have to think about that one. Although I have been a big fan of Cummins ever since my last Dodge pickup so still hoping to find...

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

With the tranny upgrade I'm not even sure a 6.5L would even be feasable without an extreme front end modification. And even then I doubt there is even enough rig to be able to handle that monster of a power train. That would sure be a sight to see if someone can make that work. Your signature...

The product of my mind 7.3 psd 1st gen

As far as I know, here in Commifornia and from what I have been told from the BAR is that as long as you are putting a newer engine than the year rig you have than it shouldn't be a problem. You just need to make sure that whatever extra emmision crap that is on a 92 Bronco goes over with the...

    Intake advice

I tried contacting ifab.net a few weeks ago inquiring about one of their cold air units but never got a reply. Didn't get a inbox full message then just never a reply. Their buy-it links aren't working I noticed either. Our local bone yards have been quite plentiful for parts for our year...

Need An Engine Bay Ignition Switch

Not a huge fan of most things Harbor Freight, but I have used one of their cheapo remote switches before and for the price you can't beat it. Plus if you download one of there 20 percent coupons, you can get it under $10. http://www.harborfreight.com/12-volt-remote-starter-switch-35448.html

    Name that part!!! lol.

You can try having someone push down on the hood and see if that makes it easier while you pull the release. Might have jammed due to being out of adjustment.

x2. I kiss my rear it's such a great rear on my rig.

Starts, then chugs, loses power, Check Engine Light; only 2 cyl firing

All the boneyards here make it plain and clear that they will not sell any cats as it's against commiefornia law. Too bad cause recycling them pays pretty good $$$ here.

    92 XLT Knock Sensor Location

Thats nice, bring up an almost seven year old thread to which you haven't the slightest clue what your talking about. First generation Explorer's NEVER HAD knock sensors installed and doubt Ford will ever redesign them with one.
