99 brake pedal makes crunching noise

My pedal makes the same noise, as does my father in law's (01 sport). I've never had any problems related to the brakes from this, and just always figured the pedal needed oil or something. I try to keep the radio volume high enough so that the creaking does not annoy me.

Temp Gauge not reading high enough

Has anybody experienced his/her temp gauge not ever getting to normal operating temp? For the past few days mine doesn't even move a quarter of the way up the gauge. I drive 30 mins to work and home each day in 90+ degree heat and normally the temp quickly reaches the mid-point of the gauge...

Chrome parts around foglights on a '99

I tried to remove mine by unscrewing the three obvious screws that held it in. All I succeeded in doing was breaking several screws (from rust). The chrome piece got a little loose but something kept holding it in and I gave up. It might've helped to remove the foglight.

The curves don't intersect on this printout because the hp and torque scales are different.

Is DPFE and EGR Valve Position sensors the same?

I've experienced one melting due to a clogged catalytic converter. I'd check to see if any are clogged, or you may be buying a new sensor...again.

    Serpentine Belt

It'll cost you between 50 and 100 bucks to have a place like Goodyear do it or between 15 and 30 for you to do it yourself. Go to Autozone or a place like that and get a belt. If you can't put it on, have a friend do it. You'll save a ton of money and it's a 15-30 minute procedure if...

    IAC

Yeah, I had the negative diconnected for about forty-five minutes... I just got back from messing with it again. I unplugged the IAC and it idled at 2000 rpm. I plugged it back it and it idled at 2000 rpm. What the hell is going on? I guess there must be a vacuum leak some where. Thanks!

    IAC

I know ya'll are probably tired as hell about hearing about IAC's, but i just replaced mine and now it won't idle below 2900 rpm. The throttle linkage looks fine and I couldn't find any obvious vacuum leaks. My truck is a 99 SOHC. It had been idling horribly in the mornings and once it got...

My temp is goin up and down

Thanks, any idea on the best temperature? I've got the Haynes manual, but I know that sometimes what they recommend isn't always what's best.

My temp is goin up and down

I have a 99 XLT 4x4 and was wondering if any one has experienced the temp to rise and fall while driving. When I start it in the morn, the temp climbs like usual then reaches almost to the red and goes back to the middle of the gauge where it normally stays when it's warmed up. A few minutes...
