    my 92 explorer 4.0 failed nox on calif smog test twice - the first time it passed at 25 mph (859), failed at 15 mph (903) - 4 mos later, 2 weeks after a major tuneup, failed again on nox, 15 mph (1088) and 25 mph (1004). it passed 3 mos before i purchased it, but according to dmv, a few days...
