    Another Blower Motor Thread

This is the exact symptoms my '96 Exploder has. Sometimes the blower works, other times, it doesn't. When it works, it works fine at any of the speed settings. When it doesn't, it's dead on all speeds. That indicates that none of the resistors are burned out, but doesn't rule out a bad...

    wiper misaligned

No, on these vehicles, you CANNOT align the wiper arms the way you can on any normal and reasonably designed car. The splined shaft thing is NOT a round shaft with splines on these vehicles. Instead, they have an oblong, or oval-ish shaped gadget on the shaft that only allows the arm to be...

    windshield wiper adjustment

Yes. The problem is that the small amount of available adjustment is not enough to correct for the displacement that many of us have. So there must be a way to adjust the positions of the oblong attachment thignies at the park position to achieve a greater range of adjustment when needed.

How do you change the wiper park position?

Same question here. 1996 Explorer. If the oblong thing to which the arm attaches is out of alignment, then there is very little adjustment available. I'd like my wipers to park higher so that they don't get frozen in as badly with ice, and the blade doesn't take such a severely curved "set"...

Anyone with experience with keeping a car that the insurance company has totaled?

I was rear-ended, in my '91 Explorer, in a fast food drive through. The lady that hit me was obviously 100% at fault, and admitted it. But her insurance was dragging their feet, saying they needed to send an inspector, were going to total the car, etc., and I was getting sick of waiting on...

Need Help.. 1996 Ford Explorer XLT.

My problem is entirely my own ignorance of how this all works. A factory service manual would have probably showed me exactly what I needed to know before I bought the replacement radio and kit to install it and then wasted my time putting that kit onto the radio and only then figuring out...

Need Help.. 1996 Ford Explorer XLT.

This sounds like my problem with a '96, as well. No sound from the radio/CD unit. So I bought a new radio and the kit to install it. All went well and the new radio works just dandy except still no sound! Only THEN did I find out that the car may have a power amplifier somewhere in the...

    Just call me "Mr. Lucky"

Hi everyone. I found this site searching for information on the mysterious "clunk" that was emanating from my '91 Explorer's steering wheel. I found a nice FAQ describing exactly what the problem was, and a way to fix it. So thanks, everyone! I've got two Explorers. One is the '91 and...

    Steering colum "Clunk"?

This is exactly what I found on my '91, too. The vibration dampener had broken two of the three rubber mounting pieces and was just flopping around and clunking as I'd turn the wheel. I, too, took mine completely out. I hope removing this dampener doesn't adversely affect anything and that...
