living on a shoestring budget every dime counts and if I can do it without too much extra $$ I do. i put the modified snap rings in so hopefully in 70K+ more miles...about 5+ years...i wont have as much trouble getting them out, saves me $, just saying.

I plan on doing another filter/fluid replacement in about a month. In theory this will replace about 75% of old fluid and also remove any more fine metal from the magnet. easy enough and well worth a few bucks. thanks for a great forum.

just completed the servoborefix, changed filter, replace 5 quarts of MERCON V, and band adjustment. now shifts into OD, a little flare in 2-3 so will re-adjust intermed band. did work on jack stands, and only took out shields. had hard time with snap rings even with long nose bent pliers...

test drive went very well...shifted through all the gears...a little flare in 2-3 so i will try to adjust intermediate band again...o/d works good and no indicator lights. BTW i removed battery cable for several hours to "reset" computer.

very similar adjustment issue. after installing the oringed servos, did adjustment and od band went way in (~4 turns) no parts in the pan just really dirty fluid and lots of fines on the magnet. hope to test drive today...

220K on my '02 expl. bought it with about 60k several years ago, no work on it that i know of. Just now replaced servos. (Can i say, i hate snap rings) adjusted both bands. Intermediate was nearly the same before and after (about 7 threads showing). O/D went nearly all the way in (one or two...
