Just installed my AVS bug deflector. Bolts to bottom of hood, no clips. Had the same issue of hood not closing. Simple fix. Loosened the latch and moved upward but still would not shut. Then I added some washers behind the latch reciever and it shut. I'm thinking some "EXPLORER" lettering...

Dealer fixed our "shift to park" issue by replacing the shifter and did the power steering recall. Good to go now.

Ours is doing this too. 2013 limited. Gonna take it in a d have this and the power steering recall done. Prolly not till January tho as the wife will be out of town then.

I think I'll save gas and skip this update.

Okay so I got my car back Monday night. They had it from June 19th-july 29th. The total for my rental car was almost $1,400. :eek: It's nice to have my Explorer back. Had been so long I was seeing other Explorers on the road and thinking "man I wish I had one of those".

Aug or Sept?! I'm going down to the dealer in person next week and demand some answers. This is rediculous.

Battery Tender. I forgot to unhook it twice while backing out of the garage. The cord yanked the battery Tender under the tire and I've run it over, twice. The outer steel shell on the BT is tuff. Still works like new. That Schumacher one would have been toast.

:UPDATE: They still have my my Explorer! We're still driving the rental! I can't believe they can't get any of these parts! Must be costing them alot of $$$ paying for our rental this long. I can't even remember what ours looks like anymore more.

Upon reading it seems you are correct. I recall the last GM car I bought that a loaner would be provided if they had to keep your car. I figured Ford would do the same, guess not. That's pretty lame. My dealership put me in a rental and told them I'd be in it for a month or so. Try a different...

No loaner? They gave me a rental. I dropped mine off last Wed I believe, seems like forever ago. If your vehicle is still under factory warranty and they need to keep it for more than a day they are supposed to give you a rental. I'd complain more.

I keep my paintless dent repair guy on speed dial for just such occasions.

Bad 02 sensor already, that's kinda weird. Glad you have it back now tho. How could they get it back to you already if the parts supposedly aren't available yet?

I doubt the police would do anything to the driver unless your camera got a clear shot of the driver, which is unlikely. Good for accidents and such tho if the other driver gives a different account of what happened.

My EX has the recall too. My garage reeked of gas a few times. I'm guessing it isn't safe to drive like this? I can't believe they won't put us in a similar sized rental car.

Hey all. Yesterday I bought a pre-owned 2013 Ford Explorer Limited with 22,x.. miles on it. It was originally sold back May 2012. I considered getting a new XLT as they were in the same price range but I wanted a limited sooo bad and I couldn't swing a new one now. Anyways it's blue w/black...
