I used a shopvac and brush attachment to rid myself of the foam dust a year or so ago. I claimed for a long time id recover it but still havent bothered with it.

it is probably a dead display on the unit itself. did you see it working before purchase? ford factory radios for years have had issues with display failure especially in the 90s

My 99 EB 5.0 has over 220k on it and still going strong for my 70 mile round trip every day at 20mpg average all highway driving. Fastest way to see if its awd or 2wd is just look under the front bumpern. If you see an axle then yes or no axel its 2wd. Only takes a second to look that way.

My rear driver side door does this every once in a while also. A few quick pulls up and down by hand has always done the trick.
