I have solved my problem at least for now. I reset the ECM by unhooking the negative battery cable and putting the jumper from neg to positive. let it set for 15 minutes then hooked it up and started the vehicle. the idle is normal and so far so good. Thanks for ideas and help.

It has about 215000 miles, I have cleaned the throttle body with spray cleaner several times. It goes up and down in the 1500 - 3000 range. If I unplug the IAC it was running better but now if I do it it seems to bog down and cut off

Started having up and down idol problems. had new plugs and wires put on. I put a new IAC valve on but it made the problem even worst. It started to make the idol surge up and down harder. I have 211,000 miles on it and don't want to put a lot of money into it. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

random starts i had trouble with mind not starting sometimes when the key was turned. i had a relay under the hood bad. it took a year to find. i dont remember the number on that relay, sorry. they are not that expensive from dealer or junk yard. good luck

runs like its missing check ignition coil pack. i had several go bad and mind missed real bad. good luck
