I have not ever seen this but when i was changing the front tensioner in the 4.0 explorer as i removed the tensioner it came after about 2 turns with no threads in the head what could have caused this? how can this be fixed without removal of the engine? thanks joel

Thanks so much for your replys pretty sure the engine that was put in came out of a 2003 2wheel drive but the guy that changed the engine was supposed to have changed the chains and guides front and back before putting it in but could have put cheep ones in been about six months ago,just...

would low oil pressure cause it to run quite until the engine gets hot?

thanks will pull the front to check you are probably right would you change the back guides again don't know were the mechanic got the ones he put in before

is it possible that oil pressure maybe low after it warms up the gauge shows good pressure?

I have a 2002 explorer that when cold runs fine but after it warms up it chatters like the front guides may be bad but replaced both front and back 4-5 months ago does anyone know what i need to do? btw 4.0 engine thanks joel

No I don't but the mechanic checked with a dial caliber and the one that came out of the 2003 2 wheel drive,said it was around 3/16 thinner everything else was the same,drove it now for two days with no problems will keep you posted joel

Hello all we found the problem the spacer on the 4x4 engine was about 3/16 differance than the 2 wheel drive. thanks for everyone that helped joel

no he did not say but he did say that it went in only one way

ok great i have a new flex plate ,got life time warranty from advanced i will let you know when the mechanic takes it out again,he tells me that the spacer will go in only one way but i think he did not put it in or there is differ size thickness joel

I changed a 2003 explorer 4.0 2 wheel drive and put the engine into my 2002 explorer 4 wheel drive i have a flex plate issue this makes 3 flex plates have broken out around the crank any body have a idea on this? thanks joel

I found the problem,the dumb guy at the tire shop put 245/70 16 on the front and 255/70 16 on the back

changed transmission on 2002 xlt 5r55w,it was rebuilt ready to go,but when started up it is giving codes p0743,p0750,p0755,p0760 anybody got any suggestions thanks joe

pulled the wires out of the back sensor,has 3 plugs can anybody tell me what the three sensors are and what color wires goes back in the plug? joe
