If you go with the 5000's you may want to consider not running the shock boots. They trap dirt and moisture and will rot out the top of the shock.

I want to do a solid axle swap into my '93 XLT. I want to use full size axles from a '79 Bronco or a '77 Chevy 3/4 ton but not cut them down. Does anyone have a front or rear shot of a full width axle under an Explorer? I want to see how much of the tire sticks out and if it looks goofy or not...

My front axle joints will only turn when it is in four wheel drive or I have the hubs locked. In two wheel drive and hubs unlocked they never will turn. .

Apparently the abs will not function with a sensor unhooked. Maybe you could splice into an abs wire and run that through a switch mounted in the cab, flip the switch and it will sense an "open" and stop functioning. I am looking to just disable mine permanently. Edit - On second...

Will a spindle from a non-front abs explorer or bronco II work as far as the bearings and auto locking hubs being the same? I think I will unhook the abs and use a non-abs spindle if it is the same except for the abs notch.

I have a 2000 ZX2 with a little over 70,000 miles and have had no problems at all. The only thing I have done is replace the tires once, nothing else on the car has been replaced (not even the brakes).
