It depends on how adept you are with parking brakes, and whether or not you press in/out the bearing yourself. If you don't run into any major issues a maybe 2 hours for hub removal and installation. It can take a bit longer depending on how many issues you have. For the bearing pressing itself...

I just did mine. I squirted them with PB the day before. They were had to turn with a long breaker on them. I couldn't get the impact wrench in (probably good because they may have snapped. but the 4" HF stubby one is too big.) but I ended up backing them out a tiny bit, oiling the threads...

Glad you got it fixed!! :) The ball joints can be a PITA to get off. Even with a pneumatic chisel and ball joint separator attachment, they don't always pop right off like they should. :)

Remove the knuckle which is pretty fast, then you can take it to a shop to have them press out the old hub and bearing and install the new one with the new hub and circlip. Somewhere between 25-50 dollars and you will be good to go. It is a LOT easier that way. :) Pressing out the bearing...

Right, but the transmission fluid looked okay, but lots of gray fines. The transfer case had lots of residue, which I think might be the big rubber washer. So something is shot in it... I haven't ever done anything with transfer cases or transmissions.. I just wondered if that could be causing...

Can I check those by removing the reverse servo thing from inside the pan? I would say I might have valves sticking, which I might have but there isn't a whole lot of flaring.
