I don't think I ever saw a link in the COTUS tool - I just punched in the VIN here http://researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html Took delivery yesterday, all good :) Simon

What is included in a trailer tow package III?

Hi Ferdinand, Let me try again. Yes the tow package is adding things to the vehicle to improve its towing capability according to the package you ordered. Class II is fairly light duty, and Class III is heavier duty (5000lbs in this case) and includes things like a transmission cooler. The...

What is included in a trailer tow package III?

Which means all the things you mentioned are installed on the car, and there is a socket behind the cover on the bumper. It does not mean there is a ball sticking out on a draw bar to attach a trailer to. Simon

What is included in a trailer tow package III?

I think by hitch, he means the draw bar and ball. I don't think that is included in either package. Simon

    Ford Extended Service Plans (ESP)

Interested to see how you made out in the end? My dealer in Ottawa is quoting $5025 Premium Care 96mo/150,000km $3860 Extra Care 96mo/150,000km It seems its about $1000 per year of warranty extension for Premium ($5k for 5 extra years, and the person on the previous page paying $3915 for 4...

Track Your New Explorer Order Website

I think it's likely they build them in batches (colour, options, Canadian spec? Etc) and you were slotted into an earlier batch. It's unlikely that they simply build them to order first-in-first-out. Simon

    Transmission Fluid Flush worth it??

Are they offering you a flush (through the trans cooler lines) or a drain and fill? I didn't think you could do a flush since there is a thermostat, and a drain only gets about 1/3 of the fluid so multiple drain/fill cycles are needed with spinning the transmission in between.... I'm interested...

Track Your New Explorer Order Website

Mine took about a month between the dealer placing the order, and it showing in the COTUS tool with a full VIN. I'm told that is typical. Ordered on Nov 15th, build is scheduled to start Jan 6th, and delivery is estimated as Jan 26th. I expect getting it across the border adds a few days. Simon

    Shipping

Water pump failure leads to dead engine

Do we know if Ford has done anything to improve the design of this water pump to make it less likely to fail, or is a 3.5 built in 2017 just as likely to see this issue as a 3.5 built in 2011? Thanks Simon

Order 2017 Explorer in Dec '16 or wait until Jan '17

The incentives always seem to be different between the US and Canada.

Order 2017 Explorer in Dec '16 or wait until Jan '17

In November just passed there was a Black Friday Incentive added by Ford mid-month. Did not apply to the Ex though. I have a 2017 on order, and it is my belief that when it arrives I can choose either the incentive plan that was in effect when I placed the order (0% finance and winter tire...

    Splash Guards

First post, so thanks in advance for the support - this site looks like a great resource. I have factory ordered a 2017 XLT, and one of the options I chose was splash guards. However, when I look at the "build and price" configurator on Ford.com (or Ford.ca - I'm in Canada), it shows two...
