Sounds like the trans is toast. probably needs a new cluster shaft and input shaft along with new bearings. I just got done rebuilding mine.

what are you using for gas? The 4.0 OHV are know to ping if using less than 89 Octane under a load.

Where are you guys getting your add a leaf and shackles for the rear on gen 1 Explorers? How much are they? I got the part #s for the F150 Coil spring spacers for the front. Thanks.

Well just went through the whole system, Found I have a bad console! Checked continuity for the temp sensor and and everything is good all the way from the sensor to the main board. While I had things apart, I hooked the VSS line up to the harness out of the ECM.

Just went through 38 pages of overhead console stuff and came up with what looks like an open circuit. After reading alot of stuff, I'm for sure going to hook up the VSS wire. I couldnt find any good info on where to hook that up on 1st gens though. No Gem module on 1st gens. Thanks for your...

I just installed an overhead console in my 94 X Sport. I got the console and wiring harness from a wreck. I'm having issues with the temp part of it. worked fine the first day, then the next day it worked on start up and then got stuck on -10*, it was around -15* that day. It would work fine...
