    Fuel rail bolts

Well, I finally got the bolts, but somehow the site I ordered from had switched the number. I got the wrong ones and the correct ones are out of stock. Shame Ford had to make such a crappy design. Any alternatives? Has anyone tried just running regular bolts all the way down through the plenum...

    Fuel rail bolts

Thanks for the offer and advice. Using the part numbers from the post above I founds some and ordered them late last night. We'll see if the order actually comes through. If not I may take you up on them. It's kind of a crappy design, but I guess if I get it running right I won't need to tear it...

    Fuel rail bolts

I rebuilt my engine, finally getting it all back together after working on other projects. Runs okay but has misfire and code shows lean running. . .likely an intake manifold leak. When I put the engine together the funky fuel rail spacer bolts (threaded on both ends, star fitting on one end...

Purpose of Wedge Seal on Oil Pan (and how to install) 4.0 OHV?

The oil pan gasket I have has two little ears that go down in by the sides of the main bearing cap. These ears are part of the rubber that seals around the main bearing cap. But the engine gasket kit also includes a "wedge seal" that it says to use in addition. It's a long semicircle made out of...

Sealing lower intake manifold 1996 4.0 OHV

One more question -- the oil pan gasket I have has two little ears that go down in by the sides of the main bearing cap. But the kit also includes a "wedge seal" that it says to use in addition. It's a long semicircle maade out of what might be considered zip tie material, and it fits over the...

Sealing lower intake manifold 1996 4.0 OHV

Thanks so much for that. I'll be putting it together this afternoon!

Sealing lower intake manifold 1996 4.0 OHV

I am rebuilding my engine (slowly) and the time has come to install the heads and intake manifold. Seems like all the available intake manifold gaskets are two piece, without anything to seal the ends (front and back of the manifold to the block). Am I just supposed to lay a big line of gasket...

How to get cam bearings clean during rebuild? 4.0 OHV

I can do that, thanks. I'm going to load the camshaft up with assembly lube as well.

How to get cam bearings clean during rebuild? 4.0 OHV

Thanks for the reply. The machine shop put new freeze plugs in. There's just no access to these from the top or bottom; you can barely catch a glance of them. I suppose I could put a length of platic hose on my air nozzle and get in there, but it's not the same as being able to wipe them down...

How to get cam bearings clean during rebuild? 4.0 OHV

I've just gotten my block back from the machine shop and on the engine stand in my garage. I had new cam bearings put in, but want to make sure everything is clean before assembly. How do you access the cam bearings to make sure there's no dust or debris? Can't get to the from the top or bottom...

1996 Explorer 4.0 OHV Fuel Rail Spacer

It's also the part seen at 10:20 in this video.

1996 Explorer 4.0 OHV Fuel Rail Spacer

Here you go. It sits below the fuel supply manifold (pictured) and above the lower (lowest) intake manifold. It's the black plastic part that is missing the end. Thanks!

1996 Explorer 4.0 OHV Fuel Rail Spacer

I'm doing a top end job on my Explorer and the plastic spacer that sits between the fuel supply manifold and the lower intake manifold is broken. I can't seem to find one online, partly because I am not sure of exactly what it is called. Does anyone know the name of this part and where to source...
