    Driveline binding

The 2.21 was actually my own math error. I forgot that I needed to double the pinion rotation count for the spiders. However I looked it up and that ratio was available on a Dana 35 but only for a rear. Correct me if I’m wrong but a rear low pinion gear seems like it would be cut in the correct...

    Driveline binding

I didn’t have help so I used Chevy orange paint on the back of the wheel across the caliper and another stripe on the pinion/diff. After two pinion rotations I looked up for the stripe on the tire and it was down by the one on the caliper. I redid it two more times to make sure I wasn’t...

    Driveline binding

Ok so that would be more of a 2.05 x 2=4.10 So my best solution sounds like regear the rear

    Driveline binding

Yes it’s stock 8.8 rear 3:73. Front ttb Dana 35 hubs locked passenger wheel jacked off the floor transfer case in 2wd one wheel rotation = 2.2 pinion.

    Driveline binding

That ratio would have been in something like a mustang. Police packages often had a very high ratio. I had to recheck it twice. I couldn’t believe it.

    Driveline binding

Got some garage time this morning and thought you guys might like an update. Someone has put a rear diff ring and pinion in the front. It has 2.21:1 gears. Luckily I have a spare with the correct gears

    2ish inch lift questions.

I used a tape measure and degree finder to get it close enough to drive to the alignment shop

    Driveline binding

All tires and wheels are identical and new. I’ve done the manual hub conversion. The autos were hit and miss when I bought it in September. Also did a manual transmission swap and small lift. I’ve been on a few trips in the snow on roads and trails. I’ve noticed typical binding in a turn but I’m...

    2ish inch lift questions.

Stock on 31” Here I’m jacking the body up from the leaf springs to install the coil over shocks This picture is front coil and add a leafs installed. I don’t have a good after shot but the coil overs bring it up level and it’s still super soft

    2ish inch lift questions.

I used 2” soft ride front springs. They gave me 3” of lift compared to my worn stock springs. To get my camber back I changed out the 2.5 bushings for 3.5 and rotated them 180 degrees. For the rear I did short add a leafs and coil over shocks to bring it up level. In all it cost me about $600...

    Sway Bar Opinions

I drive 60+miles a day. No sway bars. 3” soft ride suspension lift. I run 35psi front and 30psi rear to balance it out as opposed to the stock 26psi all the way around. Just gotta use caution on clover leaf ramps and roundabouts

    Driveline binding

I have seen a lot of discussions on binding on hard surfaces and while turning. All of those suggesting three solutions, no 4x4 on surfaces with good traction, clean and lubricate the driveshaft slip joint, and check the u joints. Yesterday I was going up a mild dirt hill, wet and partly snow...
