and finally all back together and shifting perfectly. now as soon as i figure out why it stalled tonight and now wont cranck at all it will be all good

finally an update as i had time to pull and dismantle the trans. all internals are in very good shape exept for the revers sparg. so as soon as my new parts get here i will be replacing the whole drum assembly bands and valve body kit

also to note the code is not always present as it was there this morning but now is not there

well after examining the junk yard one i determined that it is no good. but after pulling my valve body and giving it a good clean it seems to be working a little better and finally it is throwing two codes p0720 and p0722. would those happen to cause many problems

The only thing they have here is a 2004 explorer with 4.6

Any know what other vehicles I could pull a trans from other then just 06-10 explorers as I don't know what the local u pull has

I plane to pull the pan and valve body tomorrow to have a look inside ad am prepared to pull the trans and rebuild it myself if necessary.

nope no pending codes. i came across that thread as well but the symptoms are not quite the same as mine will only work in 3 not 2 or 1. also 5th or overdrive works once moving i can put in d and it shifts perfectly untill i come to a complete stop

I am just a bit confused because of how the problem is presenting itself as there are no codes no warnings no leaks and it feels if for a moment that it is trying to engage but then just does not.
