I have a 2010 ST with 52,000 miles and recently took off the running boards couple with a leveling kit front and back. I like the look without the running boards though you are correct as the frame is more exposed. One gets used to it, its like comparing a 55" vs a 60" LED/TV in your library...

Just purchase 2010 XLT 2wd, leather seats, rear cargo extender with 52,000 miles. Body and interior in basically new condition and paid $12,400. Also installed a leveling kit (2" front and 1" rear" lift) and on ordered 18" wheels and 33" tires. So paying $15K for 4wd and low miles isn't bad if...

2010 Sport Trac being lifted this weekend though wheels still on backorder. Hoping the 3" front and 2" rear is enough to clear 33x12.5x18" tires/wheels. Ive expressed to the shop that I'm not against lifting 1" body lift only if necessary.

What did you do on the struts? You can replace the shock only though the mechanic will require removing the shock from the strut by decompressing the spring is mantle etc.. thus more time and labor. Replacing the entire assemble might be the best option.
