    4.0 Camshaft replacements

Hey all, I have a 2002 sport trac 4.0. I need to find replacement cams. I can only find ones for 2004 and up. The part numbers for mine are 7L2Z-6250-C and 7L2Z-6250-D. The 2004 and up are 7L2Z-6250-a and 7L2Z-6250-B. Does anyone know what the difference is or if they would be compatible?

    Remanufactured engine

Coyles parts are never a reasonable option if you want them to be reliable. Melling makes good parts for timing and they have a complete kit or stick with ford parts if you can find them all.

    Dreaded Timing Chain Rattle

Well, if you want to ship it down to Phoenix, I can do it parts and labor for around $2000 using a melling timing kit. Shipping should be pretty reasonable since its a runner and it will be a runner afterwards. I'm just finishing up a Genesis motor rebuild and I could get you in about mid...

2001 Ford Sport Trac won’t rev past 3000 RPM in park

Ford did that on all their rangers and explorers with the 3.0 and 4.0 v-6 and the 5.0 v8s up into the late 2000s

    Dreaded Timing Chain Rattle

Unfortunately, its such a bear to get to that rear timing chain, the the motor has to be lifted out to get to that rear set. At least, that has been my experience with them so far. My guides are broken somewhere as well. I get a slight rattle on start up. I'm riding it out for now as my shop has...

Front disk brake conversion to hat rotors

Has anyone ever tried converting the one piece front brake rotors to a hat rotor on a bearing assembly on a 2wd Sport Trac? I plan on keeping my truck on the road for several years and it would definitely make the brake jobs easier if they were a hat style rotor.
