Did you get the ignition switch checked out? I dunno it's odd that the remote will fire it but the ignition won't turn it...sound like ignition switch.

Probably not the MAF..you're car probably wouldn't even start if the MAF was acting up... I noticed something similiar to what you're explaining...My rings are going bad which in turn lead to a vacuum issue...this all lead to a loss of power and the vacuum would reverse when started thus...
