    Brake upgrades

I had ordered a set for my 2wd, and they sent a set for 4wd. I ended up selling them to another person and just putting stock brakes back on mine with good pads (EBC Green Stuff, which are amazing BTW). The guy I sold them to said they are very noisy and stop poorly, even with Hawk pads, and...

    2001 sport on spray?

His name is Hunter. He worked at a shop up the road from Advance Auto (one of my jobs) and he came in one night buying a bunch of fiberglass stuff. I was talking with him and asked if he was good at it and what he charged for work. We agreed on a price for my triple gauge pod (which I had...

    2001 sport on spray?

Sadly, I have not. 2 jobs, school, and a girlfriend means I barely have time to do anything. I can't remember the last time I was on this site... I have wires run, nitrous and fuel lines run, all adapters, and I really really want to get it finished before summer. You have no idea how much...

Tranny Temp Gauge Sender Install Location?

Thanks for the link! Basically, it looks like there is nothing within a 1/2" of the side of the pan, so I should be good. Should I mount front or rear of the pan? Oh, and I'm not too worried about ripping off the drain plug, I don't go offroad much...;)

Tranny Temp Gauge Sender Install Location?

Here's a pic of the drain plug (boy is that gonna hang low) from the outside and inside. I drilled a 1/2" hole, followed the instructions with the plug kit, and put on some blue Loctite to keep things in place (not the drain plug, but the kit, of course). Also gave the pan a few coats of black...

Tranny Temp Gauge Sender Install Location?

The drain plug is in the middle circle, still under red fluid (this pic is not min, just reference, though I think the guy with this pan has a plug as well). The magnet is on the lower right. So, where should the sender go?

Tranny Temp Gauge Sender Install Location?

Picked up a 4wd tranny pan for my 2wd ST 5R55E, got the 4wd filter, new gasket, Autometer tranny temp gauge and sender, and now I just need to know where should I install the sending unit? I added a drain plug to the pan for starters (I'm keeping the vehicle for the long haul, so many more...

You can program the range and color of the LED sweeper, change face plates and bezels, and even make your own faceplate if inclined. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/xd16.php

Jakee's 4.0 SOHC Build up discussion and motivation thread

Yeah, it's like they made it to be a replacement, but forgot to add some mounting points, and just said f' it and made it anyways. My plan is to get a stock shroud, and cut it off all the way up to the mounting points for the screws, and glue that to the inside of the autometer piece, and...

Jakee's 4.0 SOHC Build up discussion and motivation thread

How did you attach the column pod? I have the same one (autometer) and it wants me to tape/drill into the stock shroud, but it's just not big enough. If I take off the stock shroud and put the replacement in, it's a perfect fit, but it doesn't have the holes to attach using factory bolts.

I'm pretty sure I'm the same. I'd love to race another Explorer, or anything, I don't care, I just love going fast.

Really, cause my parents share vehicles, and depending on what they're doing they'll drive what they need, it's called "sharing" (my dad's truck is in my mom's name, and my mom's car is in my dad's name). Me and Steve share vehicles; he needs to tow the sea doo or trailer, he can take my...

Jakee's 4.0 SOHC Build up discussion and motivation thread

It's a vehicle in the house, and I have a set of keys to it, so I consider it partially mine (just as he has a set of keys to my ST). Just thought I'd throw some laughs into the thread, since there was fun talk of racing Chevys. It has a set of slicks in the storage shed. Longtubes/straight...

But I know a guy who knows a guy who bolted a leaf blower to an engine and dyno'd it this one time, and he got like 30 more HP, so obviously they work! :D Looks like it's coming along nicely, Jakee. I've added a few mods lately, more for handling than "go". Zabteck sway bar, Moog end...

NA4LSOHCBUT [Not ANOTHER 4.0L SOHC Build Up Thread!]

This is exactly what Doug told me during our dyno day. He did pulls in my truck in 2nd, and locked in 4th. No difference whatsoever.

QFT. When it comes down to it, only 1 car can fit on a dyno. A lot of people (especially in my town, bunch of frat guys in "supped up" Hondas) talk **** about their car's numbers (at 7000rpms mind you) and mine, b/c apparently 35hp over stock "isn't that impressive" but then get smoked at...

    Dream to be fast

Good starting numbers. I would claim to be the winner, but "Price is Right" rules say I'm not. :( I would say 1. Intake, 2. Exhaust, 3. Tune. Those are the 3 biggest power adders (aside from forced induction) and you will notice a major difference with a tune. Plus, I think from Bamachips...

Finally found a fuel rail adapter!!! :D

James FTW! Yeah, we had a few different ones at work (Advance Auto) so I ordered them all, sliced em open in the parking lot, and bought the one that fit. Expensive little adapter...$30 for the kit after discount...but it's worth it. I still need to get new tires and an alignment before I...
