I'm working on my 1997 F-150, NOT my Explorer. I just picked this thing up for $400.00. (No need to list what was wrong with it when I got it,..... just what's wrong NOW ). I was blaming my G.E.M. for my lack of 4WD, so I got a transplant from a cadaver vehicle. ($10.00, couldn't beat it)...

.....Is YOUR catalytic converter as bad as mine was? My truck doesn't burn a DROP of oil between oil changes,..... but it still was completely clogged! (With rust flakes, I assume). Might be a BIG part of your problem.

I just brought her home from the garage. It hasn't run this good in three years! I'm sure the new catalytic converter has much to do with that. (We put that on before reading any codes). Now I just need a new headlight. (And an oil change). I love this place,..... thanks again, guys...

My mechanic says it's throwing several codes, the one that puzzles us most is the 212: "No Tachometer input to processor". (He has a very snazzy code-reader from "Snap-On" Tools). According to the "Sticky" on codes that I just made a search on, it says... "Ignition module circuit...

Hey there! I also have a '94 Eddie Bauer with problems. Rather than start a new thread,..... might I add to this one? My problem was that my original tranny was acting as if it would shift into two gears at the same time. I would be driving along at low speeds and I could FEEL it...

I'm getting a used tranny from a local junkyard for $150.00. ..... But I just found the A4LD rebuild diary, and fully intend to rebuild my old one, if it's at all possible. (ie:... not too totally damaged). ;) Sounds like fun. :D
