Question for the manual tranny owners...

You must just be having a run of bad luck. Our '95 is at 90.5K with no real issues. Slave cyl in the clutch will eventually have to be done, but tranny seems fine. I do a whole range of driving too. Stop 'n go, low rev lugging, high rev hot rodding, towing, seems to cope admirably so far.

    Random non-starting

Well I'll be a blue-arsed monkey!!! Just tried a new relay. No dice. Came inside and read TPLYNCH's post. Go outside and turn key to on. Nada. Fetch the rubber mallet and gently tap the fusebox once or twice. VIOLA!! Click, buzz, all those good noises that mean she's going to start...

    Random non-starting

88,*** miles no CEL's everything works just fine, damned beast just won't start. Stealer wants 80-odd smackers for the O2 sensor, so I'll just put in the fuel pump relay for now and see what happens.

Well shoot! After reading about Al's O2 sensor woes, I'll be ordering one of them too.

    Random non-starting

Thank you gentlemen. Fuel pump relay is identified and on the way. If this only costs $4.95 to fix I will be kicking myself, but at least some other potential problems got taken care of along the way. Anyone else?

    Random non-starting

Okay guys. I'm at my wits end here. Any and all ideas will be much appreciated. Our '95 Sport 4x4 has for the last 8 months occasionally refused to start. It will crank until kingdom come, but never fire. You can go weeks with nary a problem, and then the bugger will misbehave for a week...

    '95 5 speed clutch replacement

Ah that's right, now I remember. Its the slave cylinder that's going on ours. Do they leak with age? Every so often I top up the clutch fluid reservoir with just a tiny bit of hydraulic fluid, and it makes things better for a while. The guy said that if we're doing to slave cylinder, we might...

    '95 5 speed clutch replacement

I may be utterly wrong here, but I was told that the engine needed to come out for a clutch on these cars. I really hope that someone jumps on here and tells me that's baloney, 'cos ours is coming due for one of those too. How many miles on yours? We're coming up on 90K, and the clutch is...

    hard to start when warm

and if it is the crank position sensor, how hard is that to do? We have a similar problem in our 95 Sport, except that it doesn't eventually start. When it finally happened at a gas station with a diagnostic tool, that was the code that came up. I have noticed however, that on the...
