Ok, can I just buy the replacement from NAPA? And do I need to removed the actual joint to replace the boot? Or is it easier than this?

OK, I've been having slight troubles for a few months, but have found nothing until now. The symptoms are common on the forum, but none of them have been exact that I could find. Anyway, here are the symptoms: Intermittent knocking in the front suspension, seems like it's from the drivers...

you can replace the guages with white instrument panel pieces.

I also have the 50series suv dual in but single out on my sohc. it does sound better than before but only when i get on the throttle, i was hoping for something deeper and louder but not ricier...next time i'll just go with a v8 to begin with!

Do i just pour the seafoam into the gas tank? and i also read somewhere about using it on the throttle body and engine oil? Do you guys recommend that too? or should i just stick to the gas tank?

not sure but i have the same thing with mine since i got it in January!

What is this "Seafoam" treatment? And is it really worth it?

Not positive but about 50% of the time when I start mine up the same thing happens. I've got a 99 XLT, and I've heard it could be a dirty fuel filter? I just havn't had the time to look into it. If you happen to figure out the problem please post it up here!

Gas by me is at about $3.50/gallon, Chicago it's even more!!! A couple of weeks ago it was almost to $4/gallon! :eek:

I've been doing some research on Cold Air Intakes...Ive looked on the forum and still have some questions. First, has anyone seen a major difference between the K&N intakes vs. the Mac intakes? Only one I see is the price... Any other systems anyone recommends? Also, has anyone purchased...

The same noise was a heat shield on my old Explorer. Hopefully thats what your was too...easy fix!

In my 1992 Explorer....im trying to remember the fuse number but cant, but the dome light was falling out of the ceiling slowly, and every time it would bump or i poked it or would try to move it it'd blow the fuse for interior lights, stereo, and like the door chime or something...

I agree. I just bought mine for $5,995 from a dealer. Its a 99 XLT with 90,000 miles. No CD changer, or heated mirrors, and only the Drivers seat is powered. Roof rack I have....it had brand new tires on it when I got it. Only thing that sucks is that they sold it to me with a freshly...

Nope, I've got the 4.0 SOHC.

When Im accelerating there is a fast ticking coming from the front passenger side. The faster the acceleration, faster the ticking. It sounds like it would be a rock in the tire, but its not! Anyone have any ideas on what could it be? Thanks in advance. -Mike

Any luck on figuring it out? Still the only thing that comes to mind would be the wiring. I'll keep my eyes and ears out for any other info from my buddies.

Only thing I can think of is to check all wiring and make sure none of the coating was rubbed through and now has metal rubbing on the wires.. This happened in my old explorer. The coating rubbed away by my brake pedal, where it went through the firewall and sometimes there'd be a loud screech...
