Is the fuel pump located at the top of the tank or the bottom? The reason I ask is because I have not been able to "fill" the tank, it only takes about 11 gallons when it holds 19.3 gal. If I pull the tank I want to know what to expect. Thanks, Kevin 91' XLT

I'm a little worried that I won't be able to remove the nut from the bottom ball joint. Did you use a 24mm socket or closed end wrench for that? Kevin

Adding to the subject, If the ball joints have been worn for a while, will that damage any of the surrounding parts? Maybe the steering knuckle? Kevin

The ball joints are shot. I think the RA bushings are going but at the same time thought I might as well replace the RA bushings while I've got it apart.

Would it be smart to replace the RA bushings at the same time I replace the ball joints? Will it be an easier job to replace the RA bushings because the ball joints and related hardware will be out of the way? Thanks, Kevin '91 XLT

I did bleed the fuel pressure. I didn't seem to be much, I think it sat overnight and maybe it bleeds out some. I'll get the aluminum tool from Pep boys and give it a whirl. What about the fuel tank. WIll I need that tool to remove the fuel lines from the tank as well as the pump?
