    Transfer case leak

I've got an 06 V8 with automatic 4WD with 54,000 miles. The other day I had to use 4WD for the first time in a few months to get my boat up a ramp and noticed a fairly significant front diff leak on the garage floor the next day. My visual inspection and research in my Haynes Repair Manual leads...

Paint question again - 2006 EB code for the beige trim

I have the 2006 EB with Dark Cherry. Looking at the window sticker that I still have, it references the contrasting exterior beige trim as Pueblo Gold Metallic. I assume that the paint code that you cite is correct, I don't have that.

    Axle and Transfer Case Maintenance

I'm uncertain about Ford maintenance recommendations for changing the front and rear axle lubricants and transfer case fluid. I've got a 2006 with 40K miles and do occasional towing. Considering getting it done. Anybody have any guidance on the schedule for this?

    30,000 miles service

Had a 30K service done at a Ford Dealer a few months ago. Consisted of oil / filter change, tire rotation, flush transmission, replace fuel and air filter and multi point inspection. Cost was $264. I have a 2006 V8 4WD. I tow a fairly large boat, so the transmission service was important to...

    Leaking Transfer Case

Just noticed some fluid on the garage floor and traced it to the front transfer case. Leaking at the bottom of the case, not out of the plug. This is a 2006 V8 4X4 with 32,000 miles. Have had a lot of snow here lately and have had to make more use of 4 Hi than ever before, maybe a...

    Antennae Removal

Does anyone know if the antennae on the 2006 EB unscrews at the base? It appears that a wrench would unfasten it, but wanted to check before I start doing something that may cause damage I need to be able to cover the Explorer with a car cover on occasion, and having the antennae removed...

    Locking hitch pin

If you want to be able to use a lock that you can hook up and unhook, there is a product that works perfectly. It is a Master Lock Swivel Head. You can search on those words and find the product at Northern Tool for $15. I happened to find mine at Wal Mart The way that it works is that the...

    problems switching gears

I have a 2006 EB V8 w/ 16,000 miles and developed the same problem 2 weeks ago. This happened for the first time, incidentally after towing my boat several hundred miles (not sure if related). The shifter assembly was replaced, under warranty. So far, so good. I hope that this is the fix

    New Member

I live in Louisville where the Explorers are obviously built. I have a 2006 EB V8 fully loaded. Love it for towing, overall comfort and capabilities in the snow. Have had it a year now, and think that it's one of the best traditional SUV's out there I've monitored this forum for a while now...
