i have a 1997 explorer xlt that needs an engine. i have the oppertunity to buy a chevy 350 and tranny for cheap. i need to know if it is possible to put it in an explorer, and if so, how much is involved. thankyou

actually, i was just asking. i have a cold air intake, but i don't like it. and my catback came with the vehicle when i bought it. i haven't spent a penny on it yet, but id like to get an idea of whats out there for my vehicle.

sure, np. u could still do that though, just run both pipes back until the axle (as shown) and then jump them over the axle and just bring them both out together. just a thought

hey, im looking to buy a true cold air intake for my 4.0. i want one that isn't right around the engine, but off to the side somewhere. i was reading about ones somewhere, but i forget exactly how to explain it. u prolly know what i mean.:D

i asked my brother in law, who owns North Country Four Wheel Drive, In Greentown Pa, and he said i would need to rewire it and get a new tranny. either way, im broke for money, i gotta pay it off, and i need it for school, which starts in 2 weeks. i can't afford the time out of work to swap...

The Pics Go From the rear to the front. its a 3" the whole way. with two glass packs, which were about $36 each. its still carbourated, so it will pass inspection, but it has a realy nice rumble to it!:D

god i would love too, but i don't have the money right now to rewire, and for a new tranny. i need to get it on the road, and use it for my daily driver. otherwise, i would wait and swap it!

i would go custom on this one. thats what i have on my explorer. its alot cheaper, but maybe not as easy as a bolt on kit.

Hey, Im Al. i just bought a 1997 Explorer Xlt. it needs a new engine in it, the block has a hole in the bottom of it. i needed somewhere to get tips for putting it in, so if anyone has any good ones, lemme know. btw, its a 4.0 sohc. thankx:D
