    Occasional Starting problem

Starting issues Ed, All of the above suggestions are important to check. I have a '93 with 310K, and had the same problem that eventually got worse. My truck would start right up when cold, but after warming up, and a short drive down the road would not restart. After sitting 30-60 minutes...

    over 250,000 mi

309K for me. Had to rebuild the trans. at @192k. Got a leak at the rear main, that's about it. Burns a quart every 2K. What the hell, it's still cheaper than a new truck payment. It's hanging in there!

    More Spark Plug Q's

Man!! What's up with the GAP on those boys! How did that happen?

egr vacume lines blowing off under full load

This may not have been the thing to do, but I zip tied mine on to the tree, and that was several years ago. No more hoses popping off! I guess there were some plugs that kept coming off too. They would fall down into the engine, or on to the ground getting lost. I got tired of replacing them...

    Engine won't crank

JMan- Thanks for the info. I have had the fuel filter replaced, and replaced the plugs and wires less than a year ago. Where exactly is the possible loose relay wire you mentioned? I would like to check it out. This is a very intermitant problem, but can be frustrating when it happens. I have...

    Engine won't crank

I recently had a situation with my '93 X that I can't figure out. It starts and drives fine, has over 307K on the original engine. Well, recently when I shut it off, to go into a store for a few minutes, it won't fire, it turns over strong, but acts like its not getting fuel. I cycle the key...

    K&N air filter

Just to toss in my two cents worth, I'd like to say I have over 306,000 miles on my '93 xlt, and have run a panel type K&N in the stock air box for at least 250,000 miles. Have had NO problems with anything. Period. I do believe in the product, and feel if combined with a high flowing exhaust...

    Body mods

If you have stuff in the back you want to hide, and the cargo cover does'nt cut it, then go with the "panel van" look. Your ride looks awesome like it is, and I for one vote keep the glass! Peace..

thinking of adding a e pusher fan the stock set up

Huntman- Glad to know the EX is cooling like she should. I too have a cool running EX. After driving this weekend I did not see any temp. spikes. I know for a fact my clutch was'nt working, bacause now when my truck is running you can hear the fan blowing air big time! Hope it don't slow me down...

thinking of adding a e pusher fan the stock set up

I own a '93 xlt with 302K miles, and just this week replaced for the first time the fan clutch, fan (cracked to the hub between each blade all the way around), thermostat, and top rad. hose (because it was a maypop). I was also having the problem of over heating in stop/go traffic. Once on the...

Solved Transmission and Transfer Case Specs by year

waterrider919 First I would just like to say how impressed I am with the knowledge you all have about Explorers, and Rangers. I just joined the site, and could sit all day reading the how to threads, etc... I'm not real informed about the Ex I drive and I am curious about the type of trans...
